Long Story Short: $11 includes a damn good bloody or a mimosa with your choice of entree.  Nice-sized plates, and some fab onion rings we saw someone else order and just had to try.  Not super-crowded during prime time.  Also, they serve til 5 – that includes Friday!

Long Story Long:

I have somewhat recently decided, after several years as a pescatarian, that I would start eating meat on the weekends.  No reason really, I think I just wanted a cheeseburger one Saturday, so I had one.  In any case, this has opened a whole new world of brunch options for me, above and beyond burgers.

Case-in-point: Wombat.  I have been curious about this place for a while (and their $11-drink-included deal) and finally made it there one Sunday morning.  The duck hash caught my eye instantly.  It sounds amazing  – slow roasted  shredded duck with scallions, potatoes, 2 poached eggs and hollandaise – and it’s probably been at least 5 years since I’ve had duck.  The very friendly waiter came over and I let my BFFF (another recent convert back to carnivorism) order first.  She got the hash.  I said “Sounds great – I’ll have that too” to which she panicked and said “NO!
